Privacy Policy
RemindMe ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you use RemindMe, you provide us with the following information:
- Your Name: You enter your name when you first open the application. This is used solely to personalize your experience within the app (e.g., greeting messages). Your name is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers or any third party.
- Reminder Content: All reminder details you create (title, description, recurrence pattern, execution time, and other settings) are stored locally on your device.
- Location Data: When you create a location-based reminder, the GPS coordinates of that location are captured and stored locally on your device. This data is only collected when you explicitly add a new location.
Local-Only Storage
All personal data (name, reminders, locations, notifications) is stored exclusively on your device. RemindMe has no backend server or database. Your information never leaves your device.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information from RevenueCat
If you subscribe to the premium version of RemindMe, payment processing is handled by RevenueCat, a third-party payment service provider. RevenueCat collects and processes the following information for subscription management:
- Device type and operating system version
- Device identifier (anonymized)
- Subscription status and purchase history
- Transaction details (amount, currency, date)
RevenueCat does not collect your email address unless you choose to provide it separately. RevenueCat generates anonymous user identifiers to manage your subscription.
RevenueCat Data Processing
For more information about how RevenueCat processes your data, please review their privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
1.3 Permissions Requested
RemindMe requests the following device permissions to function properly:
- Location Permission (Always & When In Use): Required for location-based reminders. This allows the app to monitor your location in the background and trigger reminders when you reach specified locations.
- Notification Permission: Required to send you reminder notifications.
You can modify these permissions at any time through your device settings. If you disable location or notification permissions, RemindMe will not be able to deliver location-based or push reminders.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used exclusively to provide the RemindMe service:
- Personalization: Your name is used to personalize the app interface and greetings.
- Reminder Delivery: Reminder details are used to trigger notifications at scheduled times or when you reach specified locations.
- Location Monitoring: GPS coordinates are used for geofencing to determine when you reach a location-based reminder point.
- Subscription Management: RevenueCat uses subscription data to manage your premium access and process payments.
We do not use your information for:
- Marketing or advertising purposes
- Selling or sharing your data with third parties
- Analytics or user tracking
- Building user profiles or behavior analysis
We Don't Track You
RemindMe does not use analytics, crash reporting, or any tracking tools. We have no visibility into how you use the app.
3. Data Sharing and Third Parties
3.1 No Sharing of Personal Data
We do not share, sell, or disclose your personal information to any third party, except as described in this policy.
3.2 RevenueCat (Payment Processing Only)
The only exception is RevenueCat, which processes subscription payments. RevenueCat acts as a payment processor and receives only the information necessary to manage your subscription (device type, OS version, transaction details). RevenueCat is contractually obligated to protect your information and use it solely for payment processing.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request. However, given that all your data is stored locally on your device, we would have no information to disclose even if requested.
4. Data Security
Because all your data is stored locally on your device, security depends primarily on your device's built-in security features (device lock, encryption, etc.). We implement the following measures:
- Local Storage: All data is stored on your device using secure local storage mechanisms (AsyncStorage for React Native). No data is transmitted to external servers.
- No Transmission: Your reminders, locations, and personal information are never sent over the internet (except payment information sent to RevenueCat via encrypted channels).
- Encrypted Transmission: Any communication with RevenueCat uses industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
5. Data Retention and Deletion
5.1 Automatic Deletion
All data stored by RemindMe (reminders, locations, notifications, your name) is automatically deleted when you uninstall the application. There is no remote data to delete because nothing is stored on our servers.
5.2 Manual Deletion
You can delete individual reminders, locations, or any other data at any time directly within the app. You have full control over your information at all times.
5.3 Subscription Data
If you cancel your subscription, RevenueCat will stop processing future payments. Your subscription history may be retained by RevenueCat for accounting and legal compliance purposes, but this is their responsibility according to their privacy policy.
6. Your Rights and Choices
6.1 Access and Control
You have complete access to all your data stored in RemindMe. All information is visible within the app and can be reviewed or deleted at any time.
6.2 Permission Control
You can disable location, notification, or other permissions at any time through your device settings. Disabling permissions will limit RemindMe's functionality but will not affect data already stored locally.
6.3 Data Portability
Because all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your information. You can export or back up your reminders and locations using standard device backup methods if your device supports it.
6.4 Right to Be Forgotten
You have the right to delete all your data at any time by uninstalling the application. There is no remote data associated with your account to retrieve or retain.
Your Data, Your Control
RemindMe gives you complete control over your data. You can access, modify, or delete any information immediately. There is no hidden tracking or remote profiling.
7. Children and Minors
RemindMe is designed for users of all ages and contains no inappropriate content. We do not knowingly collect sensitive information beyond what is necessary for the app’s functionality.
If you have any concerns regarding a minor's use of RemindMe, please contact us immediately at contact@alexandre-schaller.fr.
8. International Users (GDPR, CCPA)
8.1 GDPR Compliance (European Users)
If you are located in the European Union or EEA, your data is protected under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because RemindMe stores all data locally on your device:
- You have the right to access all your information (data is on your device)
- You have the right to deletion (uninstall the app or delete data within it)
- You have the right to data portability (your data is on your device)
- You have the right to object to processing (disable permissions or delete data)
8.2 CCPA Compliance (California Users)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. RemindMe does not sell your data. All data is stored locally on your device, and you have full control over it.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of RemindMe after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
