These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RemindMe application and services. By downloading, installing, or using RemindMe, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.
1. Service Description
RemindMe is a mobile application designed to help users create, manage, and receive reminders for tasks and important events. The application operates entirely offline on your device. Key features include:
- Time-based reminders with customizable schedules
- Location-based reminders triggered by GPS coordinates
- Recurring reminder patterns (daily, weekly, monthly, custom)
- Interactive notifications with confirmation options
- Optional premium subscription for advanced features
Offline Service
RemindMe is a fully offline application. All data is stored locally on your device. The application does not require an internet connection to function (except for initial downloads and in-app purchases).
2. User Eligibility
RemindMe is designed for users of all ages. The application contains no inappropriate content.
3. User Responsibilities
3.1 Device Management
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your device
- Keeping your device operating system and RemindMe updated
- Ensuring sufficient storage space for the application
- Managing location and notification permissions
- Backing up your data if needed
3.2 Accurate Information
You agree to provide accurate information, including your name, when prompted by the application. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of information you input into RemindMe.
3.3 Acceptable Use
You agree not to use RemindMe for:
- Illegal activities or purposes
- Harassment, abuse, or threats toward others
- Circumventing security measures or reverse engineering
- Modifying, decompiling, or attempting to extract the application code
- Any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations
4. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer
4.1 Tool for Assistance Only
RemindMe is a tool designed to help you manage reminders. It is not a guarantee or replacement for your own personal responsibility and verification. You remain solely responsible for:
- Remembering and confirming the completion of tasks
- Verifying important information before acting on reminders
- Taking appropriate action for time-sensitive or critical reminders (e.g., medications, appointments)
- Not relying exclusively on RemindMe for critical tasks without independent verification
Your Responsibility
RemindMe is an aid tool only. If you rely on RemindMe for critical tasks (medications, important appointments, safety-related reminders), you must independently verify and confirm completion. We are not responsible if you forget or miss a reminder, even if RemindMe fails to deliver it.
4.2 No Warranties
RemindMe is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties, express or implied. We make no warranties regarding:
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Timely or accurate reminder delivery
- Accuracy of location-based triggering
- Data retention or preservation
- Compatibility with all devices or OS versions
4.3 Disclaimer of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Missed or delayed reminders, regardless of cause
- Data loss or corruption
- Device malfunctions or compatibility issues
- Network or connectivity problems
- Third-party service failures (e.g., location services, OS updates)
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss of revenue, profits, or business opportunities
Our Limitation
Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of RemindMe shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the application or premium subscription in the past 12 months, or if you haven't paid, then $0 USD.
5. Data and Content Ownership
5.1 User Data Ownership
You retain full ownership of all data you create in RemindMe, including reminders, tasks, locations, and any notes. RemindMe does not claim ownership of your data.
5.2 License Grant
By using RemindMe, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to store your data locally on your device for the purpose of providing the service. This license is automatically terminated upon uninstallation of the application.
5.3 RemindMe Intellectual Property
All RemindMe application code, design, graphics, logos, and branding are the exclusive property of Alexandre Schaller Binon. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of RemindMe without explicit permission.
6. Premium Subscription
6.1 Subscription Terms
RemindMe offers an optional premium subscription that provides access to advanced features. Premium subscriptions are managed through RevenueCat and processed by the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
6.2 Pricing and Billing
Pricing varies by region and currency. Your subscription will be billed according to the plan you select (monthly or yearly). Pricing may change with notice.
6.3 Automatic Renewal
Unless cancelled, your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You will be charged at your selected billing frequency. You are responsible for managing your subscription and cancellation.
6.4 Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store subscription settings (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Cancellation becomes effective at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partially used billing periods.
App Store Responsibility
Subscriptions are managed by the app store (Apple or Google). For billing issues, subscription management, or refund requests, contact the respective app store, not RemindMe directly.
6.5 Free Trial (if applicable)
If a free trial is offered, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand. You are responsible for managing your free trial cancellation.
7. Service Modifications and Termination
7.1 Changes to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue RemindMe or any features at any time. We will attempt to provide notice of significant changes, but this is not guaranteed. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
7.2 Termination of Service
You can terminate your use of RemindMe at any time by uninstalling the application. Your data will be automatically deleted upon uninstallation.
7.3 Our Right to Terminate
While RemindMe operates entirely offline and we have no ability to remotely disable it, we reserve the right to discontinue offering RemindMe or cease updates and support at any time.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of RemindMe is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand our privacy practices and how we handle your information.
9. Third-Party Services
9.1 RevenueCat
Premium subscriptions are processed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat is a third-party payment processor and is governed by their own terms of service and privacy policy. We recommend reviewing RevenueCat's privacy policy and terms.
9.2 App Stores
RemindMe is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Your use is also subject to the respective app store's terms of service. We are not responsible for app store policies or actions.
9.3 Third-Party Libraries
RemindMe may use open-source and third-party libraries. You acknowledge that third-party components may have their own licenses and terms.
10. Dispute Resolution
10.1 Informal Resolution
If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at contact@alexandre-schaller.fr. We will attempt to resolve the issue informally within 30 days.
10.2 Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by French law. Any disputes arising from your use of RemindMe shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
12. Entire Agreement
These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy and Legal Notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and RemindMe regarding your use of the application. These Terms supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
13. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of RemindMe after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.
